The St Joseph Kennel Club is an all breed kennel club located in the Greater St Joseph, MO.  area and was established in 1927. Our members are dog owners from all walks of life, many of whom are full time dog breeders, weekend dog exhibitors or just concerned and interested pet owners.

	To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs, doing all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
	To disseminate knowledge regarding purebred dogs in general.
	To do all in its power to protect and advance the interest in all breeds of purebred dogs and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows.
	To conduct sanctioned matches and dog shows under the rules of the American Kennel Club.
	To share admiration and love of all dog Breeds with all members of the public with like interests, be it as a pet owner, owner handler, breeder, or simply for the joy of the dogs.

A coordinated AKC Club event to introduce the public to the principles of responsible dog ownership. Long time breeders will be on-hand to inform prospective and present dog owners about the proper care and socialization of their dogs and offer grooming and health care advice. Attendees will be able to observe and be included with their dogs in introduction to Canine Good Citizen testing. Certification in this important testing helps dogs and owners gain respect in their community. You can observe the test prior to signing up to see if your dog can do it.

The MEET THE BREEDS element of the program will be available to the public throughout the day. A perfect opportunity to see a variety of AKC registered breeds and talk to their owners and breeders.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: September 17, Saturday, 2011

10 AM: Responsible Dog Ownership Day begins.

11 AM: A Canine Officer Demonstration by the Police Department of St. Joseph.. This features the full range of the capabilities of the Department's remarkable dogs, one of which was donated by the St. Joseph Kennel Club.

1 PM: Canine Good Citizenship Testing begins. This event is open to all dog owners.

Refreshments will be available throughout the event.
